Bajrang Dal ‘warning’ to Darul Uloom, madrassas: Expel all Kashmiri students or ‘we will deal with them’

Muzaffarnagar: Activists of Bajrang Dal have now asked Islamic seminary Darul Uloom and all other madrassas in Deoband to “expel all the Kashmiri students immediately”.The “warning” came on Sunday evening. Or, we know how to deal with them”.According to an estimate, there are over 2,000 Kashmiri students in Darul Uloom and scores of other seminaries across Deoband. In a video message, Bajrang Dal’s local convenor Vikas Tyagi said: “All the Kashmiri students who are studying in Darul Uloom and other madrassas in Deoband should be expelled. Strict action will be taken against those disturbing peace.” But, we will not let anyone take law in his hand.

Or, we know how to deal with them”.According to an estimate, there are over 2,000 Kashmiri students in Darul Uloom and scores of other seminaries across Deoband. Sources say that they have stopped venturing out of seminary premises due to fear.Meanwhile, activists of a right wing outfit gathered at Saharanpur’s Gopalganj Colony, where a large number of people from Kashmir live, and issued an appeal asking them to leave the city “immediately”.“Go where you belong to, go to Kashmir or Pakistan. Otherwise, we will send you there,” said Vijaykant Chauhan, convenor of Vande Mataram Mishan.According to sources, holding Tricolours, Chauhan and his associates went door-to-door in the area and asked landlords to “throw out” Kashmiris.When TOI approached senior superintendent of police (SSP) Saharanpur Dinesh Kumar, he said, “Someone issued a video statement, I have not seen it yet. But, we will not let anyone take law in his hand. Strict action will be taken against those disturbing peace.”
