Meerut: Four members of a family, including a two year-old child, were killed when their car fell into a canal after hitting a passerby-- a woman who also died on the spot in Anupshahr town of Bulandshahr district on Tuesday. According to police, the family was going to Vrindavan from Moradabad to attend a wedding ceremony when the car went out of control near Makhaina canal in Anupshahr.An eyewitness, Amit Tomar, said: “The car was being driven at a high speed. It suddenly turned left and hit a woman, and then fell into the canal. All of it happened in a flash.”Sumit Singh (34), his wife Prachi (33), their 2-year-old child and Sumit’s uncle Lalit Sharma (50) were among the dead. A passerby, Jaswanti (35), also died after the car hit her. Lalit Sharma was a clerk in Moradabad Nagar Nigam and all of them were residents of Katghar area of Moradabad.According to Danpur police chowki in-charge Veer Bahadur: “All the bodies have been fished out of the canal and sent for post-mortem examination. The car has also been pulled out. One more injured woman is serious and was referred to Gautam Budh Nagar.”
