Meerut: A day after the Election Commission announced the dates for the Lok Sabha elections, the BSP-SP-RLD combine at a day-long workers’ rally here coined the slogan “Modi bhagao” (oust Modi).Addressing the rally in Meerut’s Kharkhauda, BSP’s former MLA and Meerut-Hapur Lok Sabha seat in charge for the ‘gathbandan’ Yakub Qureshi said Narendra Modi was the “world’s most lying PM”. “The BJP at the Centre and in UP has lied so much that without doubt Narendra Modi is the world’s most lying Prime Minister. All of us should get together and ensure that ‘Modi bhagao’ slogan becomes a reality,” said Qureshi.In accordance with the ‘gathbandan’ agreement, BSP will be fielding its candidate from Meerut-Hapur seat. Monday’s rally was to galvanize party members ahead of the elections.Referring to the Pulwama terror attack that left 44 CRPF men dead, Qureshi demanded that an investigation should be conducted by an indepenedent agency to find how such a huge quantity of RDX was made available for the attack.On the previous regimes of Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati in UP, Qureshi said they took decisions in the favour of the masses. “Due to their decisions, Uttar Pradesh moved on the path of success. They took care of people from farmers to weavers. It was under both regimes that women were able to roam about safely. However, under the current government even prisoners are carrying out criminal activities by sitting in jails,” the BSP leader alleged.
