Meerut: Tension prevailed at Kuraina village in Bulandshahr's Khanpur area on Monday as rumours flew thick and wide that four unidentified assailants belonging to a particular community had abducted a 13-year-old girl.The minor along with her cousin was returning home after attending a marriage in neighbouring Jahangirabad when four assailants waylaid their motorcycle on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. They allegedly beat up the cousin and abducted the girl.An FIR under IPC sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 364 (kidnapping or abducting in order to murder) has been registered against three named accused at Jahangirabad police station in Bulandshahr. Two of them have been detained for questioning.Soon after the incident, rumours that the abductors hailed from another community began to do the rounds as a CCTV footage of the wedding venue showed the girl with one of the named accused.Both district magistrate Anuj Kumar Jha and SSP N Kolanchi visited the crime spot on Monday afternoon.Several teams have been pressed in action to recover the girl, said Bulandshahr SP, rural, Manish Mishra.
