Meerut: A 41-year-old joint engineer with the tube well department in Meerut was found murdered with his throat slit at his government quarter on Wednesday morning.Sushil Kumar, who was found murdered with his hands and legs tied, is survived by his wife and three kids. Police and teams of forensic department reached the spot to investigate the matter.Vijay Kumar, sub inspector, Civil Lines police station, said, “The incident occurred at 9am on Wednesday when his wife Dolly had gone to see a doctor with one of her daughters and the other two kids were playing on the terrace. She has said in her statement that when she returned, she found that the door was latched from outside. The body of Sushil Kumar was first found by his wife and three kids and they saw that his hands and legs were tied. He was found lying in a pool of blood.”A case has been registered under section 302 (murder) under IPC against unidentified people. Police team accompanied with forensic team and dog squad reached the spot soon after they were informed about the matter. Evidence was collected from the spot and investigation is underway. Also, the miscreants allegedly even looted some items from the cupboard inside the house.“Since the family has not raised any suspicion against anyone, we are investigating all angles. We will be interrogating his wife Dolly and Bharat Kumar – another joint engineer who lives just opposite to Sushil’s apartment,” said Kumar.The body has been sent for post-mortem and investigation is on.
