M’nagar DM orders action against 79 govt officials for ‘negligence’ in election work

DM ordered an inquiry into the matter and as many as 79 officials (out of 3,050) were found absent without giving any prior information. Muzaffarnagar: The district magistrate (DM) has ordered to book 79 government employees in Muzaffarnagar for ‘negligence’ in election duty under The Representation of People Act, 1951. Besides the ADM, 156 sector magistrates, 25 zonal magistrates have been deployed. The government employees like the clerks, teachers are being trained by the experts.”According to sources, during a surprise check by the DM in an election training event, dozens of employees were not found at their desks. According to additional district magistrate (ADM), Muzaffarnagar constituency has 915 voting centers which have 2,164 polling booths.

Muzaffarnagar: The district magistrate (DM) has ordered to book 79 government employees in Muzaffarnagar for ‘negligence’ in election duty under The Representation of People Act, 1951. According to sources, a large number of government employees were not present during the election training programme held at a school on Tuesday.Speaking to TOI, Muzaffarnagar DM Ajay Shankar Pandey said, “I have ordered the officials to file a case at the police station against those who were found absent during the election training programme which is being conducted to provide full information about the election procedure.
