Betting racket busted, 20 men arrested in Bijnor

Bijnor: Bijnor police busted a betting racket in Najibabad town of Bijnor and arrested 20 men late on Tuesday night.Police had got a tip off that a gang involved in IPL betting is operating in fish market of Najibabad. The police raided the place and arrested 20 members of the gang from the spot. Some members of the gang escaped from the spot.Najibabad station house officer Sanjay Panchal said, “Police have arrested around 20 people involved in betting. Earlier there was information that arrested people are involved in IPL betting. But after interrogation we have found that they were involved in common betting but not in IPL.”“A case has been registered against the arrested persons and policeare trying to arrest their accomplices as well,” said SHO.
