Meerut: Hours after a 30-year-old man died after coming under a truck carrying kanwar yatris in Deoband on Tuesday, a video surfaced which showed Wahid (who went by only his first name) deliberately lying between the front and rear wheels of the heavy vehicle. The footage was widely circulated on social media throughout the day.“The accident took place at 7.45am on Tuesday. A man named Wahid came under a truck with kanwariyas in it. Later in the day a video showing him lying in front of the vehicle’s rear wheels was widely circulated. A police team has been formed to investigate the matter and find out whether it was an accident or suicide,” said Saharanpur SSP Babloo Kumar.The video shows three trucks passing through Deoband University crossing, the first and third truck carrying kanwar yatris. Wahid is seen letting the two trucks pass and deliberately lying between the front and rear wheels of the third truck.Police said that an FIR has been filed against unknown people and the case is being investigated.
