Raj Kumar Chaudhary, CMO Meerut, said, “We have been in touch with the authorities of nursing homes as well as pathology labs. They have been told repeatedly to share daily reports about positive as well as negative cases that might come to the fore. But, despite this, regular reports are not coming. Meerut: At a time when the risk of mosquito-borne diseases, like dengue and malaria, is optimum, only 8% nursing homes and 25% pathology labs are providing data about cases coming to them to chief medical officer (CMO), statistics revealed.Only 25 out of the total 286 nursing homes and 29 labs out of the total 116 pathology labs are giving data about the reports of mosquito-borne cases – positive and negative – to the CMO, thus making it difficult for the health authorities to keep the statistics of the entire district in place.Dr. A form, which has a blueprint of how details should be provided to us, is being sent to the authorities of the medical facilities so that the process gets easier for them and it is not delayed further,” said Chaudhary. This makes difficult for us to keep a track on the district-wide statistics.”Meanwhile, no dengue or chikungunya case has been reported in the district so far. But, five cases of Swine Flu have been reported here, according to the statistics available with the health department.“We have issued a fresh notice to the nursing homes and pathology lab owners to strictly follow the instructions or action will be taken against them.
