The brothers killed her as she refused to transfer her house in their name, Both were arrested on Saturday and booked for murder.Amroha police said the body of the 55-year-old woman was found in a sugarcane field on the outskirts of Bachhrayu on Thursday. The woman was identified as Jareena. She was strangled to death. Her sons, Mohammad Jakir and Shakir, filed a complaint in this regard and a case was registered under IPC section 302 (murder) against unidentified persons.Addressing reporters, superintendent of police of Amroha Santosh Mishra said, “After lodging a case against unidentified persons, we had formed a team to crack the case. When police were probing the matter, some neighbours said the deceased’s sons had a spat with her before her death.”Police picked up the deceased’s sons for questioning. During questioning, they broke down and confessed their crime. They told police that their father had a house at Bachhrayu. After their his death, the ownership of the house was transferred in the name of their mother. Both Jakir and Shakir started putting pressure on her to transfer the property in their name. But Jareena refused to do so, Mishra said.On July 20, the sons had a showdown with their mother over the matter. Later, Jareena left the house and went outside. Her sons followed her. When she reached the outskirts of the town, they allegedly caught her and strangled her, dumped her body in a sugarcane field.
