Fire damages ceremonial lounge at Mumbai Airport

The fire officials used 6 lines of 9 fire engines to bring the fire under control at the Mumbai Airport | Photo Credit: Special ArrangementA major fire gutted a large portion of the ceremonial lounge of Mumbai Airport on Saturday afternoon. An airport spokesperson said that the lounge was used by VVIPs and was not a part of the passenger terminal. The Mumbai International Airport Ltd also deployed their fire tenders to the location. The fire officials used 6 lines of 9 fire engines to bring the fire under control. She clarified that the fire had not hampered other airport operations in any way.
