Drop in malnutrition death rate

The overall number of cases stood at 4,540 by the end of January 2018. The State government said on Tuesday that deaths due to malnourishment dropped in backwards regions near Mumbai. A total of 396 deaths had been reported in Palghar district last year. We intensified screening over the past year,” Ms. Munde said. State Women and Child Development Minister Pankaja Munde said, “This is largely due to the interventions made by the government and the schemes implemented by it.”The Minister said the cases of severe malnourishment had dipped to 434.
