A service provider will be appointed to implement an Intelligent Transport Management System (ITMS), the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport committee said on Tuesday.
The system will also include a passenger information system (PIS) for real-time information on bus movements, on board and at stops and depots, as well as rush at bus stops.
It will also enable digital and paperless transactions for daily records, dynamic rostering and allocation of work and leave for BEST staff.
“It’ll take around nine months to develop the system and another three for trials and testing.
The centralised ITMS will organise activity related to bus services, depots and workshops.
