Mumbai: Ghatkopar bizman robbed at gunpoint in moving car

Tanvi was robbed mid-way in the car and left somewhere near Marine Drive after which he approached the Marine Drive police station where the case was registered. A Ghatkopar-based businessman, Kalpesh Tanvi, was allegedly robbed of Rs 18,000 cash along with a gold chain and a finger ring at gunpoint in a moving car while he was travelling to Ghatkopar on Wednesday night. “Tanvi was blindfolded and robbed in the car wherein his Rs 18,000 cash with his gold ring and chain was taken away. We have registered a case and have transferred it to Mankhurd police station,” said a police official from Marine Drive police station. A police official from Mankhurd police station said, “We have checked the CCTV footage in the area looking for the car and found that the car number provided by the victim number does not exist.

According to Mumbai Police, Tanvi had taken a lift from an unknown person imposing himself to be a cab driver and was robbed on the way from Vashi to south Mumbai. “Tanvi was blindfolded and robbed in the car wherein his Rs 18,000 cash with his gold ring and chain was taken away. We have registered a case and have transferred it to Mankhurd police station,” said a police official from Marine Drive police station. We are going to transfer the case to Vashi police station considering he was picked up from there and the intention of to rob started in Vashi.” The police official added, “It is said that the case was transferred to us citing that he was shown a gun in Mankhurd and robbed on the way to Mankhurd, but the actual pick point will be considered as the jurisdiction for investigating a case.” Similarly, another professional heading to Navi Mumbai from Pune on Wednesday night was also robbed of Rs 40,000 and the case was similar, wherein he was shown a gun in the car.
