Cops ask man who lost his wallet to buy ‘marker pens’ first

Finally, we reached a compromise after I told him I will buy them two markers after they note my complaint,” said Siddique.Interestingly, Siddique had given a written application to the police station and even offered his own pen but the cops insisted on the marker.“After submitting my application, another constable came into the area and he too started enquiring if I had bought the marker. I agreed to buy the markers once again and even clicked a photo of the pen in front of them,” said Siddique.Instead of handing him a copy of the complaint and sending him on his way, Siddique claimed he was made to wait outside for over an hour. “While waiting for the copy, a couple entered the police station to register a. The cops treated them badly,” said Siddique.After the couple left, the constable called Siddique back in. “He suspected that I had recorded a video of the maltreatment and asked for my phone. When I refused to hand it over, he slapped me and snatched my phone forcefully. They found only a picture of the marker pen which he deleted. Fortunately, I had taken a screenshot of a complaint tweet I was penning which they failed to notice,” said Siddique.“If this can happen in Mumbai, it horrifies me to even think about the situation in other places,” said Siddique.Meanwhile, Jagdeo Kalapad, senior police inspector of Meghwadi police station, refuted the allegation. “Nobody asked him to get the markers. He was only scolded as he was found clicking photos inside the police station,” he said.
