Maratha group protests over farm produce price

MUMBAI: A Maratha splinter group protested outside Mantralaya seeking remunerative pricing for farm produce . They landed outside Mantralaya on Monday afternoon and threw toor and green grams amidst anti-government slogans.They were detained by the Mantralaya security staff and were taken to Marine Drive police station. They also threw pulses and cereals outside the Mantralaya gate.Chhava Yuva Mahasangh, the group that led the protest, said that they have previously written to the government with their demands, but there has been no response from them.And with the harvest season around the corner, the farmers across the state are a worried lot, said the protestors.There were in all 30 odd people with an equal number of women.
