(Source: File Photo) Three Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) employees were injured after they were allegedly attacked by residents of Umbarde village in Kalyan where they had gone to measure and survey an area for a sewage treatment plant. The injured are, surveyor Shriram Jokhle, tracer Madhukar Kolhe, and junior engineer Raju Sagar. “They have suffered serious injuries and are at a private hospital. We have lodged an FIR against 10-12 people,” said a KDMC official. Khadakpada police has registered an FIR against villager Kapil Bhandari and his 10-12 accomplices. “They have been booked for assault and obstructing public servants. We are investigating and will make arrests soon,” said an officer. The residents of Umbarde village have been protesting the plant since it was proposed earlier this year, sources said. “We understand their concerns.
