NIIT chairperson Dr Karan Singh addresses 10th annual lecture

The National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT) on Saturday hosted the 10th Annual Lecture by Dr Karan Singh, Chairperson, NIIT. Dr Singh, also the former member of Parliament spoke on ‘The Growing Relevance of Vedanta’ at the event held at NIIT University (NU) campus. NIIT is a not-for-profit University covered under section 2(f) of UGC Act and notified by the Government of Rajasthan. Mr Rajendra S Pawar, Founder, NU and Chairman, NIIT Limited said, “As a higher education institution with a difference, at NU we believe that at the core of true education lies discovering one’s true potential. The foundation of NU’s vision lies in Vedanta, a reflection of ideas that emerged from the philosophies in the Upanishads.

The National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT) on Saturday hosted the 10th Annual Lecture by Dr Karan Singh, Chairperson, NIIT. Dr Singh, also the former member of Parliament spoke on ‘The Growing Relevance of Vedanta’ at the event held at NIIT University (NU) campus. Various scholars congregated to deliberate upon the importance of Vedanta for the all-round development of the present generation. NU, established with a vision to bring about innovation in higher education and learning in emerging areas of study, emphasises on creating holistic human beings amid growing complexities of modern life. The foundation of NU’s vision lies in Vedanta, a reflection of ideas that emerged from the philosophies in the Upanishads. Mr Rajendra S Pawar, Founder, NU and Chairman, NIIT Limited said, “As a higher education institution with a difference, at NU we believe that at the core of true education lies discovering one’s true potential. Over the last 9 years we have successfully created a new model of holistic higher education that focuses on innovation and critical thinking.” NU has active collaborations with organisations like Microsoft Research, IBM, WNS and PwC. It also brings futuristic programmes from NIIT to design a BTech CSE programme. Recently, NU awarded FC Kohli — the father of Indian software industry and the founder and first CEO of TCS — its first honorary doctorate during the 8th Convocation Ceremony. Over 500 students were awarded degrees for completion of programmes including BTech, MTech (Business Analytics) MBA, PG Diploma (Banking & Finance) amongst other during the Ceremony. NIIT is a not-for-profit University covered under section 2(f) of UGC Act and notified by the Government of Rajasthan.
