Banker-turned-politician Meera Sanyal dies at 57

Former baker and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member, Meera Sanyal, passed away on Friday. She was battling cancer and died at her residence at around 8 pm. She fought cancer for over two years. Sanyal died of cancer after battling it for nearly two years. I pray she is free from pain and in everlasting peace," said Preeti Sharma Menon, her party colleague and member of AAP.

Former baker and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member, Meera Sanyal, passed away on Friday. She was battling cancer and died at her residence at around 8 pm. She was 57 years old and is survived by husband, son and daughter. Sanyal died of cancer after battling it for nearly two years. A former chief executive officer and chairman of the Royal Bank of Scotland, she was among the high profile candidates from AAP to have contested Lok Sabha elections. She fought from south Mumbai constituency. "She will be sorely missed. She fought cancer for over two years. I pray she is free from pain and in everlasting peace," said Preeti Sharma Menon, her party colleague and member of AAP.
