The 41-year-old man, whose wife had died on Wednesday in a scuffle with her neighbour who attacked three members of her family with a butcher's knife, succumbed to the injuries today. The accused was arrested on Thursday. The victim identified as Veeru worked in a dye company and was trying to save his son Akash (20) when the accused was attacking him. Although the accused had fled from the spot after murdering the victim's wife and leaving Veeru critically injured, he was arrested by the Delhi police on Thursday from Moti Nagar. The accused was allegedly trying to abscond from Delhi. The victim along with his 35-year-old wife Sunita and 20-year-old son was attacked with a butcher's knife by his neighbour. The 43-year-old neighbour had allegedly executed the attack after a water bottle of Veeru's eight-year-old daughter had fallen from the balcony, which even did not hit him but the accused made an issue out of it and got involved in a verbal spat with the victim. After the incident, the accused and the victim got into a verbal spat. However, neighbours and passer-by intervened and told both of them to go their homes. But on Wednesday night, the accused allegedly passed lewd comments at the victim's wife, to which the victim's son confronted him but the verbal spat between the boy and the victim turned ugly when the accused brought a butcher's knife and attacked the 20-year-old boy. However, while trying to save their son Veeru and Sunita intervened but the accused started attacking them as well. He then allegedly slit the throat of Sunita who died on the spot and made continuous attacks on Veeru, leaving him seriously injured. Veeru was later admitted to Guru Gobind Singh hospital, were he was battling for his life. However, on Thursday he also succumbed to his injuries.
