Unions to meet BMC chief on Seventh Pay Commission

The employee union of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will hold another meeting with the civic chief on Tuesday to discuss the implementation of seventh pay commission recommendations. The BMC has around 1.35 lakh pensioners and 1.05 lakh employees. The amount of arrears varied from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 3 lakh depending upon the grade. The arrears of the BMC employees are pending since 2016. Prakash Devdas, president, municipal mazdoor union said that the meeting will finalise implementation of seventh pay from February.
