MUMBAI: Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) committee members, including a member from the Shiv Sena , have strongly opposed the proposal to convert 10 red buses into mobile toilets.TOI highlighted the news in its Thursday edition. The members have now asked the management to write to BMC, stopping the latter from procuring its buses for mobile toilets.BMC opposition leader Ravi Raja said that the BMC had the responsibility of setting up toilets across city, but it should spare the red buses. Incidentally, it was a Sena corporator, Sachin Padwal , who had proposed in the BMC to procure buses which were up for scrap and convert them into toilets which will be of use to people who get stuck in traffic jams on highways and arterial roads.At the panel meeting, Sena member Suhas Samant spoke against the conversion of BEST buses into mobile toilets.
