Maharashtra braces up for free and fair poll

At the end of January 31, 2019 there are in all 8.73 crore voters in the state, up from the 8.49 crore during the 2014 state elections.Shinde also said that to ensure that there is no bogus voting in the upcoming general elections, the Maharashtra state chief electoral office said that they will ensure almost 100% photo rolls, which means the voters list in every election booth will have a photo against the voters name. The chief electoral office of Maharashtra has released a voters helpline number 1950 to answer all the queries of voters.Similarly, a person can fill form 6 by visiting www.nvsp.in and can upload one coloured photograph, proof of age and proof of address and can get registered to vote for the upcoming general elections.Dilip Shinde, additional chief electoral officer, said that the government is encouraging more and more people to register themselves and all those who register themselves in time will get to cast their votes.
