BJP WORKERS TAKE TOUGH STAND AGAINST SENABJP faces tough opposition within its ranks when it comes to allotting candidates. However, Shiv Sena has been claiming the seat for themselves during tie-up talks and wants to field Shrinivas again. The Maval constituency currently has a Sena MP, Shrirang Barane. The Palghar seat was won by BJP's Chintaman Vanga during LS 2014, but after his death in January last year, Shiv Sena fielded Vanga's son, Shrinivas. BJP national president Amit Shah and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray were present during the announcement, wherein it was declared that the BJP will contest 25 and Sena will contest 23 LS seats in the state.

Although the BJP and Shiv Sena have finalised their pre-poll alliance at the highest level, a few constituencies such as Palghar, Hatkanangale, and Maval could pose teething problems for the parties. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday announced that both parties have decided to go for an alliance during both, Lok Sabha polls and assembly elections in Maharashtra. BJP national president Amit Shah and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray were present during the announcement, wherein it was declared that the BJP will contest 25 and Sena will contest 23 LS seats in the state. The Palghar seat was won by BJP's Chintaman Vanga during LS 2014, but after his death in January last year, Shiv Sena fielded Vanga's son, Shrinivas. This forced the BJP to import Rajendra Gavit, a minister in the state during the previous Congress-NCP government, who won the bypoll. However, Shiv Sena has been claiming the seat for themselves during tie-up talks and wants to field Shrinivas again. Despite having a sitting LS MP, it is likely that the BJP will let this seat go. However, it won't be a cakewalk for Sena. BJP's local leadership have already raised their voices against this and have warned of a revolt if the seat is given to Sena. Hatkanangale on the other hand, is another constituency which the Sena will want for claim for itself. During the previous election, Raju Shetty of the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana won the seat and neither BJP nor Sena pitched a candidate against him since he was with NDA. However, he has changed allegiances, leaving a spot open for BJP and Sena to field rival candidates. In addition, former MP and NCP's former president of the NCP's women's wing, Nivedita Mane send shockwaves the party last year when she resigned. Her son, Dhairyasheel, later ditched the NCP for Sena, who would want to field him against Shetty. The Maval constituency currently has a Sena MP, Shrirang Barane. The local BJP leadership has already written to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari saying they won't work if Barane is fielded. Even though the standard formula of retaining a winning seat is followed, Sena would have an advantage since it currently has 18 MPs and would be contesting 23 seats in the upcoming polls. BJP WORKERS TAKE TOUGH STAND AGAINST SENA BJP faces tough opposition within its ranks when it comes to allotting candidates. Workers in Palghar, which has a BJP MP, have raised their voices against a Shiv Sena candidate Whereas BJP unit workers in Maval constituency have written to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and threatened to ditch work if the current Sena MP Shrirang Barane being fielded again
