Operation to capture Avni's male cub scaled down

He added that they are trying to find and trap the male cub. On December 22, the female cub was trapped and shifted to an enclosure at Pench Tiger Reserve, while the male managed to escape. Almost four months since Maharashtra State Forest department initiated one of its biggest operations to rescue two cubs of Tigress T1 aka Avni and even succeeded in trapping a female cub, while the male cub managed to escape- the operation at Pandharkawada in Amravati has now been completely scaled down. Meanwhile the female tigress (PK T1-C1) who is currently in the Titralmangi enclosure in Pench Tiger Reserve was being continuously monitored through CCTV. Limaye added that the year old male cub was still hunting and consuming baits tied around the area by the department and there have been no evidences found of it hunting free ranging animals yet.
