SSC paper leak: Mumbai Divisional Board sends probe report to Pune

The Mumbai Divisional Board this week submitted its inquiry report on Secondary School Certificate (SSC) board exam paper leak to the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Higher Secondary Education in Pune. Krishnakumar Patil, the chairman of Mumbai Divisional Board, said, "The committee that was formed comprising the board as well as thane education department officials have submitted its report to Pune State board office. Sharma alerted the Bhiwandi police and the Maharashtra State Board about the leak. This year, the board exam was held from March 1 to March 22. Several SSC board exam papers were leaked at a Bhiwandi-based school this year.

The Mumbai Divisional Board this week submitted its inquiry report on Secondary School Certificate (SSC) board exam paper leak to the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary Higher Secondary Education in Pune. A divisional board official told DNA that the schools, whose chief conductors were involved in the case, may also lose their registration. Several SSC board exam papers were leaked at a Bhiwandi-based school this year. Govind Sharma (35), a resident of Bhiwandi, is the whistle-blower in the case. Sharma alerted the Bhiwandi police and the Maharashtra State Board about the leak. He said that not only Science or Social Science papers were leaked, but also the Maths paper was out. This year, the board exam was held from March 1 to March 22. According to Bhiwandi police, two chief conductors for the exam from two local schools — Amber Afroz Ansari (29), vice-principal of Kakatiya High school, and Sajid Kharbe, at Rafiuddin Faki Boys High School, Islampur — were involved in the case. Krishnakumar Patil, the chairman of Mumbai Divisional Board, said, "The committee that was formed comprising the board as well as thane education department officials have submitted its report to Pune State board office. The report is confidential. We will wait for the higher officials to give us instructions on what further action needs to be taken." Another board official, Sharad Khandagale, the secretary of Mumbai Division Board, said, "The committee has also given some suggestions to tackle cases of paper leaks in future. This year, two schools may face action as their school officials are also involved in the paper leak."
