Maharashtra, Goa schools linked to new CBSE office in Pune

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools in Maharashtra, Goa, Daman and Diu will no longer have to run to Chennai regional office for administrative purposes as the central board has set up a new regional office in Pune. I feel, increasing number of schools under CBSE board in the state is one of the reasons why the CBSE board has set up a regional office in Pune. Now we expect the regional official at Pune to conduct a survey and assign board exam work to teachers accordingly." The Pune regional office will also be responsible to conduct the board examination for the academic session 2019-2020 that will be conducted in February-April next year. Chennai officials used to assign board exam work to Mumbai-based schools without conducting a proper survey.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools in Maharashtra, Goa, Daman and Diu will no longer have to run to Chennai regional office for administrative purposes as the central board has set up a new regional office in Pune. Through a circular issued on Saturday, CBSE school principals and their staff members of schools from the above-mentioned state and union territories were instructed to approach the Pune-based office instead of Chennai from now onwards. The Pune regional office will also be responsible to conduct the board examination for the academic session 2019-2020 that will be conducted in February-April next year. Welcoming the move, a principal of a CBSE school located at Navi Mumbai, said, "Having a regional office in Pune has brought great relief to all the schools because earlier we use to communicate with the Chennai regional office for any school work or board exam work." Deepshikha Srivastava, principal of Rajhans Vidyalaya, Andheri, said, "For any teachers training or board exam-related training we were called all the way to Chennai regional office. Having a regional office in Pune will make work easier. I feel, increasing number of schools under CBSE board in the state is one of the reasons why the CBSE board has set up a regional office in Pune.
