Mumbai: Students to display engineering skills at FRC

Lead mentor, Nilesh Shah said, "It is amazing how High school students are attempting tasks which even engineering students would take time to understand and replicate." Team R Factor is India's first high school international robotics team that has been participating in FRC since 2016. This year while participating in two regionals at New York, the team won the "Engineering Inspiration Award", for advancing STEM education within their community. Radhika Sekhsaria, grade X, from Oberoi International school, Goregaon, won the Dean's List Finalist Award'. And lead mentor, Rohit Sekhsaria, won the Woodie Flowers finalist award.

Team R Factor, a group of 24 high school students from over 10 different schools across Mumbai has qualified for the First Robotics Championships (FRC) to be held in Detroit on April 23 where 800 teams from 70 countries will participate. The team qualified after competing at regional level held in Hudson Valley and Long Island, New York. Team R Factor is India's first high school international robotics team that has been participating in FRC since 2016. This year while participating in two regionals at New York, the team won the "Engineering Inspiration Award", for advancing STEM education within their community. The team also won the Industrial Design award, for an efficiently designed robot. Radhika Sekhsaria, grade X, from Oberoi International school, Goregaon, won the Dean's List Finalist Award'. And lead mentor, Rohit Sekhsaria, won the Woodie Flowers finalist award. Rahesh Saraf, grade XI, Jamnabai Narsee International School, Vile Parle, said, "This is my fourth season with FRC and being a part of this team has not only taught me engineering skills but has helped me stay focused and calm under adversities".
