Mumbai: Medsynaptic report software account of doctor hacked

A 30-year-old radiologist practicing at Shatabdi Hospital, Kandivali has alleged that his Medsynaptic software account was hacked, and the accused sent defamatory message to his seniors. According to the police, the complainant Tushar Semwal is practicing radiology at the said hospital since March 2019. "After sending the reports from Medsynaptic software, senior doctors call up Semwal to discuss more about the case but no one can edit anything on the report. Few days back, the manager of the centre told Semwal that a message was received at the headquarters by someone using his account. The software which is used to send CT Scan and MRI reports by doctors enables a user to login into his account by entering the password and a digital signature. It allows to send the medical reports but disables the users to make any changes into it. According to the police, the complainant Tushar Semwal is practicing radiology at the said hospital since March 2019. Shatabdi Hospital has a tie up with Krishna Diagnostic Centre which examines the CT Scan and MRI reports of the patients and takes a call for the treatment. Semwal who represents the centre at Shatabdi Hospital told the police that the reports are examined by him first and later, he sends a photo copy of the same to his seniors at Chinchwad. "After sending the reports from Medsynaptic software, senior doctors call up Semwal to discuss more about the case but no one can edit anything on the report. Few days back, the manager of the centre told Semwal that a message was received at the headquarters by someone using his account. The message said, 'I Dr Tushar Semwal, am HIV positive and was removed from my medical college for leaking the papers of our examination and still this institution Krsnaa Diagnostics has hired me because obviousely they dont give a shit about your life," said a police officer. Semwal immediately approached the police and lodged a complaint. The police have booked the unknown accused under section-500 of the Indian Penal Code and section-66 and 65 of the Information Technology Act.
