Mumbai: Spinal surgery enables 11-yr-old Kurdistani to walk

The patient, Goran Shakhawan, will now be able to walk properly without any support. When he was taken for further medical investigations at the local hospital, a spinal cord tumour was diagnosed. After his complex spinal microsurgery at a Mumbai-based hospital, the boy will be able to walk properly and be active, just like other kids his age. He added, "The patient underwent surgery for removal of the tumour (under intraoperative USG and neuromonitoring guidance), and laminoplasty on June 26. They would walk properly, and I would limp.
