BREAKING: Maharashtra locked from 8PM tomorrow: Uddhav Thackeray addresses State

Section 144 imposed in Maharashtra for the next 15 days from tomorrow. 

Maharashtra is witnessing the highest number of infected people with the virus and also the most number of Covid deaths. The dreadful scenario has made the citizen fear.  The state already has weekend lockdown, night curfew, and other prohibitory curbs in place until April 30. With 60,212 fresh Covid cases recorded this is a matter of concern.

 CM Uddhav Thackeray has come up with the new covid norms that the state must follow.  However, the chain break is a must and therefore the Maharashtra government has come up with the decision of complete lockdown. Lockdown will be imposed in Mumbai and the rest of Maharashtra.  CM Uddhav Thackeray said from tomorrow evening, no one will be allowed to go out from home without any valid reasons.

For the next 15 days gathering of more than five persons will be restricted. No stepping out of the home unless essential work.

Aware of the challenges faced by the poor already, the State government will be providing 3 Kg of wheat and 2Kg of rice for 1 month to 7 crore workers.

 According to Maharashtra`s health department, 31,75,585 people are in-home quarantine and 25,694 in institutional quarantine. Maharashtra`s capital Mumbai has added 9,989 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours. Mumbai`s active cases have climbed to 92,464, while the recoveries have jumped to 4,14,641.
