Team India opener Prithvi Shaw was stopped by the Maharashtra police in Amboli for not carrying an E-Pass while was travelling to Goa for a holiday after the postponement of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.

Maharasthra police stopped Prithvi Shaw for about an hour and didn`t entertain any requests by the young star.

The police did not allow him to go further because he did not have an e-pass when a lockdown is currently in force in Maharashtra to control the spread of the Covid-19 virus.

Prithvi was travelling to Goa by his car via Kolhapur. The police allowed him to travel further only after the player applied for an E-pass at the spot.

Team India has to play the final of the Test Championship against New Zealand in Southampton on 18 June. After this, there will also be a series of 5 Tests at his home from England. Prithvi Shaw has not been selected in Team India for both the series.
