Maha logs 41 new coronavirus cases; 9th consecutive day of zero death

Mumbai, Dec 8 (PTI) Maharashtra on Thursday recorded 41 fresh coronavirus cases and no new death linked to the infection for the ninth consecutive day, the health department said.With this, the state"s overall COVID-19 tally rose to 81,36,107, while the death toll remained static at 1,48,407, it said in a bulletin.On Wednesday, the state had recorded 33 cases and zero fatality.This was the ninth consecutive day when no new death related to the respiratory illness was reported in the state, whose case fatality rate stood at 1.82 per cent.The state had recorded one fatality on November 29.The health department said 45 patients recovered from the coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, taking their cumulative tally in the state to 79,87,447.Maharashtra now has 253 active cases and its coronavirus recovery rate stood at 98.17 per cent, it said.The department said 10,899 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours, taking their total count in the state to 8,57,23,485.
