Rajasthan to have 21 more trains operational from 2014-15

Though the rail budget has given only 2 superfast/express, 1 passenger and 1 premium train, pending trains announced in the 2013-14 rail budget and those announced in the interim budget in February made up a good tally of upcoming trains for the state. Moreover, trains announced in the interim budget by Malikarjun Khadke in February 2014 during the UPA`s last rail budget, too, would be operational in this financial year. JAIPUR: As a rail passenger, if you are disappointed with rail minister Sadanand Gowda for not giving enough trains to the state, here is some good news for you. Though the rail budget has given only 2 superfast/express, 1 passenger and 1 premium train, pending trains announced in the 2013-14 rail budget and those announced in the interim budget in February made up a good tally of upcoming trains for the state. Hence, the state will technically have 12 superfast/express, four premium and five passenger trains operating in 2014-15 According to the officials of the North Western Railways, the superfast/express trains including Sikar-Delhi Sarai Rohilla, Jodhpur-Bilaspur, Bikaner-Bilaspur, Jodhpur-Kamakhya announced in the rail budget 2013-14 will run in this financial year.

"Apart from these, two passenger trains including Loharu-Sikar and Ratangarh-Sadarshahar would also start after the gauge conversion work is over," an officer with NWR said on Wednesday. Moreover, trains announced in the interim budget by Malikarjun Khadke in February 2014 during the UPA`s last rail budget, too, would be operational in this financial year. "All trains announced in the interim budget and in last year`s budget will be operational soon.

We have clarified with the Railway Board as all these trains including those announced in last year`s budget and interim budget will be operational," said Tarun Jain, chief public relations officer, NWR. The trains which were announced in February included three premium trains ? Sealdah-Jodhpur AC express via Mugalsari, Yashwantpur-Jaipur AC express via Pune, Ahmedabad-Delhi Sarai Rohilla via Ajmer. "It also had 6 express/superfast trains ? Ahmedabad-Katra express via Jaipur, Ahemdabad-Lucknow via Jaipur, Bhavnagar-Delhi Sarai Rohilla link express, Jaipur-Chandigarh intercity, Mannargudi-Jodhpur express and Sriganganagar-Jammu Tawi express and Jaipur-Phulera passenger trains.

All these trains are slated to be operational within this financial year," an officer added..
