Bill Clinton to visit Jaipur school kitchen tomorrow

Clinton arrived here along with his delegation on Tuesday night for the visit and stayed today at a hotel on Goner Road here. The NGO also provides food to about 20,000 `anganwadi` workers and 4,000 daily wage labourers at over 40 locations across the city, every evening at a nominal price of Rs 5 per person. The NGO is also serving several schools across other states in the country as well.

JAIPUR: Former US President Bill Clinton will on Wednesday visit a kitchen being run for schoolchildren by an NGO here, as part of his tour. Clinton arrived here along with his delegation on Tuesday night for the visit and stayed today at a hotel on Goner Road here. "Preparations have been completed for the visit of Clinton, who is arriving on Tuesday to see a kitchen and would also visit a school," NGO Akshya Patra`s spokesperson said.

The kitchen in Jaipur feeds schoolchildren daily in government schools as part of the Centre`s mid-day meal scheme. The NGO also provides food to about 20,000 `anganwadi` workers and 4,000 daily wage labourers at over 40 locations across the city, every evening at a nominal price of Rs 5 per person. The NGO is also serving several schools across other states in the country as well.

On July 17, Clinton will visit a school and community centre in Lucknow, according to a release by the Clinton Foundation. Jaipur and Lucknow are on the itinerary for Clinton as part of a visit to the Asia/Pacific during which the former US president is also scheduled to travel to Vietnam, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Australia to take stock of the work of the Clinton Foundation and deliver remarks at the 20th International AIDS Conference in Australia. .
