Bizman found dead in N-choe

Though his kin claimed that Kumar was murdered, police said the picture would become clear after a postmortem examination on Friday. His purse, gold chain and two cell-phones were missing from his body. Kumar had left his house in Khuda Lahora to attend court proceedings in Sector 43 district courts, but did not return on July 15.

CHANDIGARH: A money investor, Krishan Kumar, 42, who, along with his car, had been missing from his house for the past two days, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in N-choe between sectors 16 and 23 on Thursday. Though his kin claimed that Kumar was murdered, police said the picture would become clear after a postmortem examination on Friday. His purse, gold chain and two cell-phones were missing from his body.

And there is no clue about his car. Kumar had left his house in Khuda Lahora to attend court proceedings in Sector 43 district courts, but did not return on July 15. His family lodged a missing complaint at Sector 11 police station the same day.

The family said, "On July 16 when we called him on his cell-phone, some persons attended the call and said he was with them attending a business meeting in MP and that he would soon return home. And hours before it, too, our call on his phone was attended to by someone else who claimed that the mobile was being repaired in Sector 35." The calls were made by Kumar`s daughters -- Kanchan, 17, and Monica, 19.

Prema Devi, his wife, said, "My husband had many business rivals and he had been receiving threats for the past many days. A number of cheque bounce cases filled by him and against him were pending in the Sector 43 district courts." The decomposed body was spotted by an auto driver, who passed the information to Sector 17 police station around 2.

15 pm. The cops called the relatives of all missing persons. It was then that the brother of Kumar -- Guru Parsad -- identified the body.

B N Jha, a former employee of IAF and close friend of Kumar, said, "He, along with Pawan Kumar, a resident of Derabassi, was scheduled to fly to Mumbai for a business deal on July 16. But both of them missed the flight." DSP (central) Ashish Kapoor said call details of missing cell-phones of Kumar were being scrutinized.

He said the postmortem examination would clear the cause of death. Kumar is survived by his father, wife and three children. His son Prince, 13, is a Class V student in a local school.
