RRB exam paper leak: Racket kingpin arrested

He was dismissed from service after he was arrested in 2006 for his alleged involvement in a paper leak case. The police began a search and arrested Bedi Ram Wednesday from Aashiana Colony of the city. The official said Bedi Ram is a suspected kingpin of the inter-state racket in which railways recruitment exam papers were leaked.

On the basis of information gathered from two of the accused who were arrested Sunday for carrying answers of question papers of Loco Pilot exam conducted by Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), UP STF arrested alleged kingpin of the racket — Bedi Ram — from Lucknow Wednesday. A native of Jaunpur, Bedi Ram is a a former railway employee. He was dismissed from service after he was arrested in 2006 for his alleged involvement in a paper leak case.

An STF official said, during questioning, accused Rama Kant Yadav and Deepak Kumar Patel had revealed that they got the answers from Bedi Ram and his nephew Deepak. The police began a search and arrested Bedi Ram Wednesday from Aashiana Colony of the city. The official said Bedi Ram is a suspected kingpin of the inter-state racket in which railways recruitment exam papers were leaked.

The STF officials are questioning him about the alleged paper leak. ASP STF Triveni Singh said Bedi Ram had earlier been thrice. On February 26, 2006, Bedi and 15 others were arrested for reportedly leaking question paper of group C conducted by RRB.

On December 14, 2008, Bedi and his 10 associates were arrested for his alleged role in leaking question paper of Loco Pilot conducted by RRB. Two-hundred and seventy-four aspirants were also arrested. On February 2, 2009, he was arrested again for leaking question paper of assistant station master conducted by RRB, Ajmer.

Papers were leaked in Jaipur and Bhopal and 15 accused were arrested. Ninty-four aspirants were held then. .
