Leader of opposition Rameshwar Dudi intervened to say that this was a rather serious matter concerning lakhs of farmers.
"While the government had procured channa in March, it had procured groundnut last December and the farmers are yet to receive payment for both,`` said Dudi, demanding the state government`s assurance that the payment would be made soon. Meanwhile, during the Zero Hour, BJP legislators including Gyan Deo Ahuja and Anita Bhadel raised the issue of safety of Amarnath pilgrims from the state. Seeking the attention of Speaker Kailash Meghwal, Ahjua said about 100 pilgrims from Ajmer were stranded and trapped following clashes at the base camp of the Amarnath Yatra in Kashmir.
"I have information that about 30 to 35 of these pilgrims are injured, of whom 8 to 10 seriously,`` he said, requesting the state government to ensure their safe return. Bhadel said most of the pilgrims belonged to her constituency and supported Ahuja`s demand for state intervention. "We have been receiving phone calls from the trapped pilgrims and their worried family members,`` she said.
