Zoo gets great horned owls

In exchange of these animals, Lucknow zoo will soon be sending 4 swamp deer, 2 hog deer and 4 crocodiles to Bhilai. Director Lucknow zoo Anupam Gupta informed that Vishakha would be kept in isolation for around 10 days in a separate enclosure away from public so that she adapts herself to the new environment, while the new pair owls will be on public display by Thursday..

LUCKNOW: The animal exchange programme in the city zoo is going on in full swing. While just a few days back the Lucknow zoo was blessed with the entry of a 4-year old white tigress named Vishakha from Bhilai (Chhattisgargh), it has recently got one pair of Great Horned Owl (a large owl from America) from Bhilai (Chhatisgargh) zoo, and one jungle cat and 6 Bonnet monkeys from Thiruvananthapurum (Kerala) zoo.
