Various NGOs hit the road on Saturday, in support of RJ Malishka, on the city's perennial potholes issue. They assembled near Marol Naka in Andheri, displayed banners, and slammed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for issuing a notice to the RJ's mother after a civic health department team allegedly found mosquito breeding spots at her house in Bandra. The civic team had issued the notice a day after the RJ shared a video asking citizens whether they believe BMC will ensure pothole-free roads. On Saturday, almost 100 people assembled around 10.30 am. Godfrey Pimenta from the Watchdog Foundation said that citizens also wore "Malishka masks". The protest was called by activists from the Watchdog Foundation, Save Our Land, Bombay East Indian Forum, among other organisations. During the protest, the Watchdog Foundation also distributed a 'Watchdog Balm: Potholes Se Chhutkara'. Pimenta added that they distributed the balm among BEST bus drivers, conductors, and auto rickshaw drivers. Meanwhile, BMC continued to face heat on Twitter, with senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh coming out in support of Malishka. He tweeted that he supports the RJ.
