The Powai police, who are investigating a case filed by a 13-year-old boy's father after the teenager allegedly consumed rat poison to end his life after being allegedly sodomised, is questioning the teen's friend and three other youths about the incident. The police are also hoping to record the statement of the teen who is battling for life in KEM hospital. According to police, on July 6, the boy, along with his 11-year-old friend were allegedly sodomized on a desolate stretch of Filter Pada. They were threatened that they would be killed if they spoke of the incident to anyone. Following this, the 11-year-old consumed rat poison and died soon after, while the other is in critical condition with a damaged liver. The 13-year-old later informed his father that he was sexually assaulted, and a case under section 377 (unnatural offense) of IPC and Protection of Children From Sexual Offenses Act was registered. "We are questioning the boy's friend, while three other youths are being grilled about the incident. The parents of the 11-year-old have said that their son died due to dehydration," said an officer, privy to the investigations. "The 13-year-old is unconscious, and we are hoping that he recovers so that we can take his statement. Our teams are on the lookout for a youth who has been named by the teen to his mother," said the officer.
