Mysuru: For the second day running, JD(S) state president and former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy lead the roadshow in Chamundeshwari segment – where chief minister Siddaramaih is contesting the election from — on Sunday, as part of the party’s campaign to cover all 33 villages in the segment.JD(S) workers, local leaders numbering in the hundreds attended the roadshow, which kicked off at Lingabudhi Palya at the southern end of the city. Flanked by the party candidate GT Devegowda in an open-top vehicle, Kumaraswamy made an impassioned plea to the voters lining the roads of the segment.Starting off from Lingabudhi Palya, the roadshow passed through Srirampura Gate, Udbur, Murudagalli, Doora, Dodda Katuru, Taluru, Sindhuvalli, Chikka Kanya, Dodda Kanya and Bandipalya near the Mysuru-Nanjangud highway. The cavalcade subsequently proceeded from Hosahundi near Chamundi Hills, reaching Siddalingapura and Kalasthavadi near the Mysuru-Bengaluru highway, and ending at Ballahalli near Bogadi Road.Youngsters display Congress flags during roadshowHowever, the roadshow was not without event, when around 20 youngsters at Marballi village, which falls under the Jayapura gram panchayat, displaying Congress flags and raising slogans against Kumaraswamy led to tense moments. Not pleased with the act, local JD(S) leaders and workers started abusing the youngsters, before cops stepped in to disperse the crowd and brought the situation under control.Moksha to Siddaramaiah Kumaraswamy said that the party had announced candidates candidates for 126 constituencies in the first list, and for an additional 20 in the second list. “The final list of candidates will probably be out by April 17,” he said.Stating that the JD(S) was not concerned about Siddaramaiah’s plans on fighting the assembly elections from two segments, he added, “JD(S) is not worried about Siddaramaiah contesting from one or two constituencies.
