Traditional Karaga festival gets underway in namma Mysuru

The 94th annual Karaga festival, which has been conducted in Ittigegud area, under the auspices of Renukadevi Karaga Temple Trust , started on Wednesday morning. The festival, conducted to appease goddess Chamundeshwari and Mariyamma , was started in the year 1924 The festivities began with several folk teams performing Dollu Kunitha, Veera Gaase, Kamsale, Devara Kunitha and more, adding zing to the festival.A grand procession will be carried out on Sunday night, amid hymns and chantings, to mark the culmination of the festival.
