My grandfather was a zamindar in Kollegal and had 400 acres of land. But following the land reforms act, it came down to 100 acres. Later my father bought 20 acres of land in Malavalli. After my MBA I decided to give a new touch to this farm,” he said.“I divided my farm into several plots. These plots are dedicated for various crops. I have adopted organic farming. Instead of selling these farm products to middlemen, I have opened a shop where all the products are sold directly to the customers. This is helping me earn good profit,” he said.“Besides farming, I have also adopted animal husbandry. I am looking after the best breeds of horses, cattle including cow, goats, sheep, hen and other birds in my farm. All these have made agriculture a sustainable model for me,” he said.“In farming, I didn’t incur loss. I am following sustainable model. Marketing the agriculture products is the key to make the profession profitable. I am doing the same,” he said.
