Govt will provide Maharani’s College all amenities, promises CM

Mysuru: Students of Maharani’s Commerce and Management College in Paduvarahalli are obviously big fans of chief minister HD Kumaraswamy . Government schools and college students should compete with private schools. The college needs some attention and basic facilities. Every weekend, government school teachers will be trained to be more competent.Kumaraswamy also visited Maharani’s Arts College for Women and inaugurated its cultural and sports activities. He said the college has been providing education to poor and rural students for decades.

Mysuru: Students of Maharani’s Commerce and Management College in Paduvarahalli are obviously big fans of chief minister HD Kumaraswamy . They stood in pouring rain and listened to him in rapt attention on Tuesday when he came visiting to inaugurate their NSS and cultural activities. Of course, his security personnel held up an umbrella to try and keep him dry.He gave them a pep talk, listened to their grievances and promised to attend to them.Overjoyed by their response, he continued his speech for 20 minutes and asked them to focus on studies and promised to ensure all basic facilities in the college.Kumaraswamy admitted that the college needs an additional 20 classrooms and 20 teachers. “It’s the responsibility of the government to appoint faculty and higher education minister GT Devegowda will focus on it. As per his suggestion, over 3 lakh laptops will be distributed to degree students across the state. The government has decided to spend Rs 1 lakh crore on developing infrastructure of schools and colleges,” he added.On another note, he said there is deficit rainfall in over 15 districts whereas in districts like Kodagu and Mysuru region, there is excess rainfall.Kumaraswamy emphasised taking the initiative to employ 1,000 English teachers to government schools in the state. He added that Kannada is necessary, but it’s essential for students to know English, he said. Government schools and college students should compete with private schools. Every weekend, government school teachers will be trained to be more competent.Kumaraswamy also visited Maharani’s Arts College for Women and inaugurated its cultural and sports activities. If it’s shifted to a new location, the number of students will decrease. We promise to ensure it gets all the required amenities, he said.Ministers GT Devegowda and SR Mahesh, MLA Nagendra, former MLA Vasu, DC Abhiram G Sankar and writer Latha Rajashekar were present at the events.
