AITUC slams Centre for lsquoantilabourrsquo policies wants government dissolved

“If the government cannot protect thye interests of the labourers, it should be dissolved,” said the protesters. Mysuru: Members of the All India Trade Union Congress AITUC ) on Wednesday protested against what they dubbed the ‘Anti-labour’ policies of the central government, and demanded the dissolution of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led dispensation at the Centre.The protesters assembled in front of the Mysore Law Courts Complex, and raised slogans against the central government, the policies of which they held responsible for the loss of jobs in India. Charging the Centre with trampling over the rights of labourers in the country, the protesters said, “It is an anti-people government, which is catering only to the interests of the corporates, and has ignored the needs of the common man.”The protesters called on the central government to amend labour laws, by increasing the cap for minimum wages to Rs 18,000, and providing all workers a pension of Rs 3,000.The AITUC members also called for an end to the practice of contract, and tender-based employment.
