Winning medals has become a regular thing for Mysuru girl Deia S Urs, who recently picked up a bronze at the Karate Do Federation Championship held in Jakarta . The fact that I was able to win a medal boils down to my preparation and how I executed my skills on match day. This is just the beginning and there are certainly many more medals that I can win at global events. Just because I have won a bunch of medals doesn't mean that I am going to rest on my laurels. I have also acted in few dramas in school, but never made a conscious effort to learn dance or acting.

This is just the beginning and there are certainly many more medals that I can win at global events. Just because I have won a bunch of medals doesn't mean that I am going to rest on my laurels. At the Jakarta event, for instance, there were 450 participants from countries like Japan Australia , Sri Lanka, Philippines, Nepal, Iran, Singapore, Bangladesh, Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong, among others. The fact that I was able to win a medal boils down to my preparation and how I executed my skills on match day. I wish I could have won gold, but I am glad I made it to the semi final.”Her martial arts prowess apart, Deia has also dabbled with acting and dancing, and emerged winner on a bunch of television reality shows like Putani Pantru, Daddy No 1, Prachanda Puttani and D-Juniors. She adds, “Dance comes naturally to me. I have also acted in few dramas in school, but never made a conscious effort to learn dance or acting. Now, my concentration is restricted to kickboxing and academics.”
