Health minister gives Rs 1 lakh each to kin of KFD victims

Shivamogga: While the state government is yet to extend any compensation to the kin of seven people who died due to Kysanuru Forest Disease ( KFD ), health minister Shivananda Patil on Wednesday gave Rs 1 lakh to each of the families, from his own pocket.Senior Congress leader Kagodu Thimmappa visited all the seven families in Aralagodu and distributed the money given by the health minister. It is the first time compensation has been paid. So he released funds from his own pocket.
