Mysuru: “In a month’s time, eight flights will be operated from the Mysuru Airport on a daily basis. “I learnt from experts that industrial growth of Mysuru was hampered because of poor connectivity. These include identifying the best opportunities, motivating young entrepreneurs and examining the chances of success of industries in the city. In the years to come, I want to realise my dream of operating at least 25 flights daily from Mysuru.”The Parliamentarian said that, besides giving a fillip to air connectivity, a longstanding demand to extend the Kachiguda Express to Mysuru would be fulfilled within a fortnight. These flights will operate to and from Belagavi, Goa and Bengaluru.

Mysuru: “In a month’s time, eight flights will be operated from the Mysuru Airport on a daily basis. These will include flights to Kochi and Hyderabad,” announced Mysuru MP Pratap Simha here on Friday.Simha, who participated in the annual entrepreneurship summit ‘Mysuru 2.0’ organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry-Young Indians ( CII-YI ) at Hotel Radisson Blu, said that he had discussed the city’s connectivity woes with experts soon after he was elected to the Lok Sabha. “I learnt from experts that industrial growth of Mysuru was hampered because of poor connectivity. Keeping this in mind, I have been trying my best to improve Mysuru’s connectivity to other urban centres,” said Simha.Expressing happiness with the daily flights to and from Chennai, which have been in operation for the past one-and-a-half years, recording 90% occupancy, Simha added, “We are keen to accelerate industrial growth in Mysuru, and so, we have decided to add eight more flight routes. These flights will operate to and from Belagavi, Goa and Bengaluru. We will also start operating a morning flight to Chennai. Pointing to the vast number of institutions for higher education, and the sprawling industrial hubs set up in various taluks, Simha exuded confidence of industrial growth skyrocketing once the connectivity issues were addressed.CII Mysuru vice-chairman Bhaskar Kalale said that budding entrepreneurs must first find their area of interest, and then work towards achieving their goal indefatigably. “Theme and timing are key determinants of successful entrepreneurs. They should be willing to take risks, but at the same time, be equipped with the right skills to overcome difficulties,” said Kalale, echoing Simha’s views on the need for connectivity to improve to bolster industrial growth in Mysuru.‘Mysuru 2.0’ is a platform that CII-YI is using to understand what needs to be done to realise the vision of ‘Mysuru 2030’. These include identifying the best opportunities, motivating young entrepreneurs and examining the chances of success of industries in the city.
