Mysuru: Officials and personnel of the forest department are yet to recover completely from the massive inferno that engulfed Bandipur Tiger Reserve (BTR) earlier this month, when another wildfire erupted in another part of the jungle on Thursday.
“The fire is now spreading towards Shri Subraya and Vanamurthy temple sacred grove,” said the villagers, adding that they had informed the forest department about the fire, and asked them to take immediate action to extinguish the blaze.

Locals said that fire consumed honeybees and other wild animals.
On learning about the incident, range forest officers of Kundagere, Bandipura, GS Betta, Maddur, Omkara and Moleyuru ranges were pressed into service, and the fire was brought under control.Balakrishna said that the fire was spread across 30 acres of forest land.
